FAQ

Why cedar is Best?

  1. Cedarwood is soft wood that resists the cracking and splitting caused by the heating up and cooling down in the sauna. No sauna wood lasts longer than cedarwood.
  2. Cedarwood contains aromatic oils that are known for their healing and cleansing properties to aid detoxification during the sauna.
  3. It also breaks down mucus, making it useful for treating catarrhal conditions, especially bronchitis.

Does the size (surface area) of the heater make a difference?
ABSOLUTELY. According to the laws of physics or Wein's Law the larger size heaters mean more surface area, resulting in lower surface temperature. The heat is spread out over a larger area. This produces more FAR or LONG wave infrared heat which is more therapeutic for your body.

Will I need to hire an electrician or upgrade to 220 volt?
NO. Because of Cedrus Sauna's 290 square inch Quantum Wave Technology ceramic infrared heaters, there is no need to upgrade any of our models to 220 volt, saving you both time and money.

Is the warranty on the cabinetry important?
ABSOLUTELY. Most other brands give you a 1-year warranty on the wood cabinetry. Remember, your sauna is a hot box! What will you do if the wood warps or cracks due to excess heat over time? All Florida Sauna Saunas come with a lifetime warranty on the cabinetry (as well as controls and heaters). To learn more about our warranty,

What is the optimum infrared frequency for an infrared sauna?
The result of Florida Sauna's 290 square inch surface area allows for the lowest surface temperature of any other infrared heater. This means the best performance well within this vital wave range of 7 to 14 microns with a good portion of wavelengths at 9.4--which is the frequency at which a water molecule resonates or vibrates. This vibration causes a release of cellular toxins such as mercury, aluminum, cholesterol and other toxic gases.

Is infrared heat safe? Is it like a microwave or tanning bed?
Infrared heat is completely safe. In fact, it is so safe, hospitals use similar heaters to warm newborns. Infrared heat is part of the very safe bandwidth of light, unlike ultraviolet (tanning beds) or microwaves. To learn more about infrared safety.

safety of far-infrared heat
Infrared light is part of the Sun's invisible spectrum. One of Far-Infrared light's characteristics is the ability to easily penetrate human tissue. When this happens, it creates a natural resonance, which has many beneficial properties. Remember the last time you were sunbathing with sunscreen? Were you still hot? Of course you were because the sunscreen only stops the UV (Ultraviolet) light from hitting your skin. The Far-Infrared heat (FIR light waves) penetrates your skin, giving you that wonderful natural warmth.

You can be exposed to Far-Infrared heat for hours and it will never cause your skin to burn. Far-Infrared heat is completely healthy and safe for all living things. In fact, far-infrared heat is so safe it is used in hospitals to warm newborn infants.

Can I put my sauna outdoors?
